Steel

I am steel,
metallic matrix
strong alloy,
solid solution.
Water flows,
no sign left
only small drops
of fresh nothing.
I am steel,
stainless.
Flames don’t burn my skin
rust doesn’t consume
my veins of light.
Protected
corrosion-resistant.
As I am steel
and so is my heart
heavy, solid
barrier of chromium
Unassailable!
But a unique melting point:
the elasticity of my bouncing soul,
breeding gold foils,
thin layers of joy
warped by plastic pain.
